Wherever he was meant to watch Roland do after he lit the centre candle, well, maybe Tidus wasn't listening too well to those instructions earlier. And he'll defend himself on his hill with the grumbling he gives as to the reason- ] You were runnin' 'round too much.

But he's ready to go on after that, and they can get it the second time--the amount of time they have to pull it off now as short as it seems when you try to do the task on your own. The way opens up with a 'wall'--and not even attempting to be a wall, with an arch of bricks around where the door obviously is visible in the design--dropping down into the floor. ]
We're coming up to the first boss soon. [ And speaking of bosses, that word alone reminding him of a conversation at the end of the mission, or near to it- ] You know, I thought we beat that mission pretty easy.
