He stares at the parcels with big eyes before taking them into his own hands. For a moment he stands there like that, not quite sure what to do with them.
An uncertainty that isn't helped by the fact that Roland goes back to staring at the other packages. If Inigo was any more aware, he might have been able to tell the other was purposefully giving him some space. But of course Inigo doesn't realise. There's way too much going through his head to think much about it.
So instead he busies himself with actually opening the packages to see the items inside. First the shield, then the book. He stares at both, but the latter especially holds his gaze for a few moments.
Tidus remembered. That moment on the island, when Inigo had confessed he liked flowers. And then the shield - meant to help him fight, surely. Tidus got him these. He thought of him. He wanted to do something for Inigo in his own way, despite - or maybe because - the way they constantly went back between bickering and comforting each other.
Inigo is trying so hard not to cry as he keeps staring at the items. But it's a losing battle. Tidus was looking out for him, trying to help him. And what can Inigo do in return, now Tidus must be hurting so badly? No matter how much Tidus said he and Yuna were going to make the best of it, Inigo can only think of how much it must be tearing the other apart to be seperated. And all he can do is.. what? Stay away from him? Give him space? It doesn't feel like helping at all. What can he do?
He raises the shield higher, making sure it's angled between him and Roland. Like he's trying to just take a closer look at it.
But it's just an attempt to try and make sure Roland won't have to see, won't have to know. Won't have to worry about Inigo as he can't quite stop the tears from slipping out this time as the worry about someone he's grown so close to so rapidly spills over. He makes sure the tears are as silent as possible. ]
