Tidus moves fast, but Roland does what he's told regardless. Takes to the chopping board and uses the knife deftly, starting with the onion bulb that already begins to make his eyes grow moist after cutting smoothly against the root. As Tidus returns with more and more ingredients, he keeps working, taking that time to pause on the onions and put the pan on the heat too. Low and steady, making sure the oil doesn't burn. He dabs at his eyes with his sleeved elbow, wincing quietly. Onions truly are the worst.
Tidus will find him still on the task, now at the dicing stage, by the time he's completed the roster of his ingredients. Makes a face at the sight of all the peppers he's gotten from the stores and shakes his head in mild distaste. Memories flooding back of his tongue burned from Goldpaw's spicy hot dumplings and soup...He'd shudder if he was the type to express that outwardly.
"I'll...trust you on the spices. Just, nothing too hot for me. I don't take well to it." And with that, the onions are finely diced one sniff and teary-eyed Roland later! He walks quickly to run the knife through water, cleaning it. "Anything else to prep?"
GO PUT IT IN A SANDWICH OR SOMETHING >:(
